چکیده

Background Physiotherapy is a part of conservative scoliosis treatment [1]. Different theories, methods and exercises was proposed and used to date, but only a few of them was proved and recognized as effective. PNF is one of methods in physiotherapy used in orthopedic and neurological diseases [2]. PNF philosophy, threedimensional patterns, techniques, breathing and movement stimulation can be useful in AIS therapy. Recent author’s studies established limited range of trunk and pelvis rotation (TPR) in AIS girls with double curve scoliosis [3].

An immediate effect of PNF specific mobilization on the angle of trunk rotation and the Trunk-Pelvis-Hip Angle range of motion in adolescent girls with double idiopathic scoliosis—a pilot study

BACKGROUND Impairment of spine rotation is a key concept in several theories explaining the pathogenesis and progression of scoliosis. In previous studies, a more limited range of motion in scoliotic girls compared to their non-scoliotic peers was noted. The Trunk-Pelvis-Hip Angle measurement is a test used to assess the range of motion in the trunk-pelvis-hip complex in the transverse plane. T...

Comparison between the Short Term and Durability Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Exercise and Instrument Assisted soft Tissue Mobilization Technique on Ankle-Dorsiflexion Range of Motion

Introduction: Reduced lower extremity range of motion and movement leads to a decrease in movement efficiency; accordingly, it is vital to maintain the range of motion to prevent damage and improve functions. The purpose of this study was to compare the short term and durability effects of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) t...

Background & Objective: The effect of simultaneous US(Ultra-Sound) with stretching, however, has not been compared with other manual stretching techniques like PNF(Proprioceptive Nueromuscular Facilitation). Furthermore, the permanency of the two techniques has not been investigated, either. Method: This study was a randomised clinical trial on 20 non-athlete and healthy women. The subjects...

Influence of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercise programs on idiopathic scoliosis patient in the early 20s in terms of curves and balancing abilities: single case study

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) exercise programs for idiopathic scoliosis with a female patient in the early 20s in terms of her spinal curve and balancing abilities. The study subject was selected among 21-year-old female college students. There were no particular activities that the subject could not perform, but...
